DrChopSuey Jams Weekly Wrap Up

SO much happened this week so I'm just going to jump right on the weekly wrap up:

Jamberry-Land had a lot of fun this week because they were actually featured on the TODAY show! Okay so this was actually late last week. But I'm just getting to blogging about it now. :)
Chrome nails are on point right now and they featured the Jamberry Metallic Chrome nail wraps (JFYI, they totally applied the wraps incorrectly!). I, and a couple DrChopSuey Jam Fans, jumped up and orders some of these Chrome wraps right away. But so did so many others!
It looks like (at the time of this post publication) the stock is back, so you are in the clear if you wanted to order some for yourself!

I also had a number of firsts this week. Including the first in a series of blog posts on Climbing Jams. I tried my first FB Go Live post for my DrChopSuey Jam VIPs! If you would like an invite to the VIP page please let me know. In the live video I showed the Hostess Exclusive wraps and let you know to hit me up sooner rather than later about scheduling a party... my schedule is filling up! And I launched my brand new Samples Request page! So now when you meet someone that wants to try Jamberry nail wraps, you have a place to direct them!

As always I like to feature the Jamicure I'm Rockin' and it doesn't matter if I love or hate it. Well you guys know I'll always keep it 💯. Last week I was so excited for my Jamicure with En Pointe a pale, pastel beauty with a sparkling ballerina. After a couple of days I decided it looked horrible on me (skin tone whoas) and I had some wrinkles that just irked me. So I ripped off (just) En Pointe and kept it bare for a day. Then I found Trippin' and now I'm loving the look. Luckily there is a way to trade away half sheets of wraps because this beautiful pink wrap turned out to be a DONKEY for me! So if you ever have a donkey, let me know and we can find you a wrap that you love.

Throwback Thursday this week was an exciting one. I love (LOVE) purple on nails and while this one is a bit darker than my norm, the bit of sparkle just spoke to me like whoa. And I'm actually intrigued by the clear wrap. I have so many cheap polishes that I cannot use (yay climbing) so I'm going to try to wear the clear wrap OVER the polish. It's going to be an experiment - can't wait to report to you the results!

Samples Request Page - Now Live!

Have you been wanting to try Jamberry wraps? Or do you have family and friends that want to try Jamberry wraps? Well now you can request, or send people to request, for samples via my new Samples Request page! Just fill out the form and a sample will go out to you the very next day!

Plus... I'm doing something special for you...

For those that request for a sample, go ahead and take the challenge -- the 7-Day DrChopSuey Jams Challenge! When you get your sample wrap, wear it (you can wear nail polish on your other nails or not), and after a couple of days of wear (3-7) snap a picture and send it to me (via email or post to DrChopSuey Jams Facebook page). I'll make a collage each month of all the nailfie entries and pick a lucky winner for a random drawing!

Your nailfie can be as simple or fancy as you'd like - join the fun!

And for those of you who are already DrChopSuey Jam Fans - don't worry I NEVER forget you. If you want to Spread the LOVE for  DrChopSuey Jams and direct people to my request page, AND they do the challenge and send me a nailfie, YOU will be entered into a drawing! Yes, free, fun stuff for you just by spreading the love! See the Promos page for all of the details. That's just my way of thanking you for supporting me!

Climbing Jams: Post 1 - Climbing Proof!

Climbers are OBSESSED with their hands and (toe and finger) nails. OBSESSED. Nothing destroys a climbing session like having an in-grown toe nail, split nail, or a huge ripped open flapper. This is the first of a series of posts on Climbing Jams! Today's post will focus on how Jamberry nail wraps have withstood the test, at least for this climbing gal!

As I've posted previously, these Jamberry wraps can take a number of climbing sessions! Just see my About Me section and you will see my previous whoas with nail polish and introduction into Jamberry. And most of all, you'll see my INTENSE experiment/trial with these Jamberry wraps - reposted here for your enjoyment:

Need more pics? I have MANY (I'm a little obsessed with doing a hard climbing sesh and having my husband take pics of my gnarly hands but perfect Jamicures!).
As you can see I have a lot of anecdotal evidence for the awesomeness of Jams during climbing. I would LOVE to have a couple other climbing gal pals provide some first hand (hehe) accounts of Climbing Jams.

I do mostly do top-rope indoor climbing with a little (easy bouldering) outdoors. So my experience outdoors on different types of rock is quite limited. If you are a female (or male!) rock climber that would like to test out Jamberry nail wraps on different types of climbing (outdoor, indoor - sport, trad, deep water, boulder, lead, top, whatever your flavor), hit me up on my request page and let me know you are a fellow climber and you are interested in experimenting with the wraps. I'd love to have a number of people testing these babies on all types of climbing styles and materials!

Until next time - Rock and Jam On!

Tip Tuesday

Tip Tuesday will be a regular feature on DrChopSuey Jams. While it won't happen every Tuesday, you will occasionally see a new tutorial, tips n' tricks, and nail care post.

For the first installment of DrChopSuey Jams Tip Tuesday: For Proper Fit - Embrace the gap gap ladies!! Choose a wrap that is slightly smaller than your natural nail. A TINY sliver of nail should show around all three sides. By leaving a little gap around the edge of your wraps, you will help them to stay on much longer. If the wrap is touching your skin at all, it will come off pretty quickly. So remember:

Have a question you'd like addressed? Leave it in the comments and I'll be sure to feature your question in a future Tip Tuesday!

So this is a great opportunity for me to express the girly-girl side of me while continuing to maintain my active lifestyle. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!

Supporting Biomedical Research - Supporting Children

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that this part-time position is providing me with an opportunity to do something I've wanted to do for a while. A portion of the profits I earn from being a Jamberry Independent Consultant will be donated to the NIH Children's Inn, a private, non-profit residence for children and families participating in pediatric research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Children and their families seek treatment at NIH, often as their last, best hope for a healthy future through the promise of clinical research. These young patients are facing medical challenges that range from cancer and blood disorders to metabolic conditions and illnesses that lack successful therapies and are often researched and treated only at NIH. The Inn's partnership with NIH makes it possible for these critically ill children to receive much-needed treatment while also helping to advance scientific and medical discoveries.

With your Jamberry purchases through my Jamberry Independent Consultant site, you are not only supporting me, you are also helping all the children and families with comfort and care during their difficult medical treatments. Thank you for your support in my business and in my mission in helping biomedical research and most of all, these children.

How It All Started

Hi! I'm Suzy, also known as DrChopSuey. I'm a knitter, rock climber and librarian. The knitting and librarianating don't wreck my hands an nails. The rock climbing however....

A while back I posted this picture on my social media sites:

This was taken after a morning of indoor rock climbing, which I did a day after I had a rather pricey manicure done. Let's just say I was a little upset about the wasted money and time! And because I LOVE rock climbing, I figured I would just have gnarly climber hands for the rest of my life.

In comes my friend Nikki. She is a Jamberry Independent Consultant and asked me to try Jamberry nail wraps. Here's my collage following 2 weeks of wear:

After that I was sold. I LOVE this product and this company. So much so that I've decided to become a Jamberry Independent Consultant! This way I can keep climbing and rocking (see what I did there?!) beautiful nails, but also bring awesome products to you!

I'm looking forward to helping you! Please feel free to contact me if you need any help in choosing, applying, removing, or discussing Jamberry wraps or other nail products. Or if you'd like to chat about hosting a party or learn more about becoming a Jamberry Independent Consultant, please find me on my social channels listed to the left of this blog post!
